Membership Terms and Conditions -

By submitting an on-line membership application to Scootering
Manitoba, hereinafter referred to as The Club, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
1.0 Scootering Manitoba is organized and run by its Board of Directors (The Club Organizers). As a member of
The Club, you will be invited to participate in club events and share
resources and information with other members. No fees or tariffs are currently levied
by The Club. Some fees may be levied for specific functions or events as deemed necessary by the Club Organizers. Voluntary donations to The Club are accepted to assist with club
operating costs such as the web site and club events. Receipts are issues
for any voluntary donation.
The Club is not eligible for tax deductible donations. The Club does not currently engage in public fundraising outside of its membership population.
2.0 Discounts and Promotional Notices: Members may be receive
discounts, incentives, or promotional communication from businesses which
develop sponsoring relationships with Scootering Manitoba. Promotional
material will only be distributed directly from the Club. Club member
contact information is not distributed to third parties. Details of how
Scootering Manitoba uses your personal information is available in our
Privacy Policy.
3.0 Public Relations: As a member of Scootering Manitoba you are encouraged
to recruit other members, re-distribute (without modification) electronic or
printed informational material released by the Club, or provide others with
the Web or email address of the Club. You are not permitted to communicate
on behalf of the Club in public/electronic forums or the media.
4.0 Mechanical/Repair Advice: Scootering Manitoba provides information
resources and advice regarding the repair and performance tuning of scooters
and mopeds. Scootering Manitoba does not employ formally qualified
mechanics and is not liable for any damages you incur to your property or
person or that of a third party as the result of implementing a suggestion
obtained via the Club website, newsletter, or another member.
5.0 Membership Screening: Scootering Manitoba does not verify the identity
of individuals or organizations who form an affiliation with The Club. No
form of screening or reference checks are performed on members. When meeting
others through the Club, individuals should exercise rational judgment
before trusting individuals with their person, property, or safety.
Scootering Manitoba is not liable for damages resulting from any incident
stemming from relationships established through The Club.
6.0 Code of Conduct: Scootering Manitoba reserves the right to terminate
your membership at any time if you: intentionally misrepresent the Club;
exhibit unbecoming or improper behavior at any club function or within any
online forum; commit fraud; harass other members; disregard safety
guidelines at club events; exhibit improper/foul/sexually explicit
language.
7.0 Club Events: Scootering Manitoba sponsored events may be free or
may involve nominal fees to cover costs. The Club does not serve
alcohol at it's functions and strictly advises members to not drink and
drive/ride. If the event/function is being held in a location where
alcohol is available, or if the members brings/provides their own alcoholic
beverages, Scootering Manitoba advises members to consume non-alcoholic
beverages if driving or riding as a passenger on a scooter/moped.. Scootering Manitoba is not responsible and will be held
harmless for any accidents, personal or involving other parties, bodily
injury or death, traffic violations, or any civil or criminal charges levied
against one of the member or other parties involved. Scootering
Manitoba may request that you do not participate in Cub events held in
public locations and may prohibit you from participating in private Club
events. The Club may request that you do not participate in a Club Ride if you fail to
adhere to safety guidelines or if the condition of your
scooter/moped/motorcycle is deemed unsafe by the Club Organizers.
8.0 Bodily Injury, Death: Motorcycling is a hazardous mode of
transportation and leisure. Scootering Manitoba provides safety
guidelines to members at Club rides and events which are designed to
minimize risks associated with riding, however, Scootering Manitoba cannot
assure the safety of your property or person. Individuals agreeing to
the Terms and Conditions as outlined in this form shall not hold Scootering
Manitoba liable for any damage or loss of property, personal bodily injury
or death resulting from any accident, act of God, or any situation while
attending or in association with any Club or related function.
Scootering Manitoba is also not responsible for any vehicles (motorcycle or
other) property damages, stolen items or property.
9.0 These conditions may change or be updated from time to time and it is
your responsibility to check the "Terms and Condition Page" for changes or
updates.
10.0 On-Line Forum Use: While the administrators and moderators of the Scootering Manitoba forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.
You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database.
