We've received some recent questions as to the status of these two important issues. Below is an update on both the petition and the MPI rate increase proposal.
MPI 2007 Rate Proposal / Hearing

Members will recall that the MPI's 2007 rate proposal included the following proposed changes:
1. An increase of moped basic rates of 100%
2. An average reduction of 70% on basic motorscooter rates.
3. The introduction of a moped rental class to separate this use from private use.
As a registered intervenor, we opposed the increase and supported the decrease and rental segregation.
The hearing was completed in mid October. The PUB delivers their ruling sometime during the month of November. We are hopeful that the Board will side with our concerns.
Petition Update

The petition/proposal which appears on this site was discussed and delivered to the Manitoba Dept of Transportation in November of 2005 (one year ago). There has been no movement on the proposal yet. I have asked for a status update from the deputy ministers office in October and am currently awaiting a response.
We continue to collect signatures until we see action from the government. We have collected, at last count, just over 260 online signatures. _________________ Claudio Sousa, Club President
